The Knickerbocker Hotel in Linesville, PA, is used to catching something anomalous on their well-trained web cams. And this time - it may be a "shadow person" who was caught in the act in this April 2011 image.

Knickerbocker Hotel Ghost

Owners Myrle and Peg Knickerbocker placed cameras in many rooms on all three of the hotel's floors and they stream 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Viewers worldwide can have a peek at any time - and some actually catch something.
In this case, a viewer was watching earlier this month and was able to snap the picture on this page.
The viewer who caught the ghostly image says the shadow person has their arms folded, and if you zoom in, you can also see his legs.
I spent a fair share of my own time exploring the hotel. If you don't walk away with a paranormal tale of your own, it's unusual.

Rhode Island legend tells of a spectral ship that haunts the waters of Block Island, bursting into flame and sinking into the ocean.
Depending on the version of the story, the ship augurs bad weather, and may also appear on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year's.

The tales hold that the ship is the ghost of one that wrecked on the island's northern point shortly after Christmas 1738.
And while there's good evidence that a British ship, the Princess Augusta, carrying a load of passengers from territory that would become Germany, ran aground on the island on Dec. 27, 1738, there's accord on little else about the incident.

A deposition taken from the ship's crew shortly after the incident and republished in 1939 tells of a voyage in which provisions were scarce, half the crew had died, and others were hobbled by the extreme cold.
In the document, crew members said a heavy snowstorm drove the ship aground. They testified that Captain Andrew Brook encouraged those on the ship to save what they could of it and its cargo ''both before and after She broke to Pieces. . . ."
According to folklorist Michael Bell, of Cranston, within the century after the incident, two versions of the story became popular.
The on-island version told of the residents' generosity rescuing and nursing back to health the ill and starving passengers, who had been abused and exploited by the captain or the crew. The other version was immortalized by the 19th-century poet and abolitionist John Greenleaf Whittier.
Whittier's ''The Palatine" appeared in The Atlantic Monthly in 1867. In it, Block Islanders recall the wreck and some islanders' roles in causing it by igniting false signal lights to draw the ship aground.

Mysterious Body Falls from SkyThis mysterious video shows a car accident caused by a flying body. The video starts with two men speaking in German and having what appears to be a casual day out.  As the video continues, however, it's soon apparent that something unusual is going on.  In the distance an object can be seen quickly hurtling toward the vehicle and after only a second of being airborne it impacts the vehicle's window.  A woman's scream can be heard from within the vehicle and quickly the car tumbles end over end and crashes.  At least that's how it appears on film.  But what was this mysterious object seemingly falling from an open and distant sky? Ghost or maybe alien, we don't know yet.

Vanishing HitchhikerThe vanishing hitchhiker is an urban legend that has a ghost who appears as a hitchhiker. In fact, the vanishing hitchhiker is the archetypal urban legend. It combines history (somewhat recent), with modern devices (automobiles), the supernatural (a ghost), often horror, and fiction.
The essence of the story may be traced back several centuries to European folklore where it involved horses and carriages. The legend in its modern form began to emerge with the rise and dominance of the car in American culture. In the 1930s newspapers began carrying accounts of these ghosts of the highways.

Night HitchhikerThis tale is the classic American legend of the road and there are many different versions. The haunting usually involves a particular stretch of road but in some cases the geographic area where the hitchhiker appears may be quite large. Some of the common themes and scenarios involve a tragic death or even murder, often connected in some manner to the road itself. The specter is usually seen hitchhiking along this area. The motorist in these tales may or may not stop to pick up the hitchhiker. Regardless, the spirit often ends up in the car of the driver, usually in the back seat if they were not picked up voluntarily. Sometimes death or harm befalls the motorist, but not always. There is also usually a garment or other object left behind. Oftentimes a member of the deceased's family or a close friend will appear in the tale and identify the object as belonging to their dead family member or friend. After riding for awhile, the hitchhiker will usually vanish, although sometimes they are just dropped off. Either way, the driver ultimately learns through some means that the hitchhiker as described has been dead for some time, usually for years. In a variation, sometimes the hitchhiker will prophesy future events for the driver.

Haunted Klondike HotelA local shop owner in St. Helens is convinced that most of the paranormal activity in St. Helens is concentrated in the Old Town area from the old theater to the old Klondike Hotel at the end of South 1st Street. His knowledge is based on personal experience.
One night as the shop owner worked late hanging things, a hammer was laid down to grab something; but when the shopkeeper went to grab it again, it was gone! Knowing the ways of prankster spirits, the keeper demanded the return of the hammer by scolding the spirit and magically it reappeared! The trickster like occurrences led our source to believe the spirit of a small child inhabits the shop.
This claim seems to be corroborated by Robert Chamberlin, the founding member and president of Northwest Paranormal Investigations, a group that seeks out and documents strange activity in the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Chamberlin has investigated the Klondike Restaurant (71 S. 1st Street) and has found paranormal activity throughout the old hotel. "One upstairs room in particular was striking in that his team had sensed a feeling of death. It was very strong and more than one person picked up on it... We took photos and had some spirit orbs on them. We were later told that a gentleman had died a tragic death in that room."
Other paranormal hotspots  include the high school auditorium called "The Old School" in St. Helens, which is haunted by a woman named Vera who died there and has been seen messing around in the lighting booth. The site also lists the Kinder Cemetery, located on the north side of Highway 30, which is inhabited by an old ghost named George who when angry has been known to push and slap people!

Black Shuck
Black Shuck or Old Shuck is the name given to a ghostly black dog which is said to roam the Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk coastline. He is sometimes known as the "Doom Dog".

For centuries, inhabitants of East Anglia have told tales of a large black hellhound with malevolent flaming eyes (or in some variants of the legend a single eye) that are red or alternatively green. They are described as being 'like saucers'. According to reports, the beast varies in size and stature from that of simply a large dog to being the size of a horse.
The legends of the Black Shuck roaming the Anglian countryside date back to the time of the Vikings. His name may derive from the Anglo-Saxon word scucca meaning "demon", or possibly from the local dialect word shucky meaning "shaggy" or "hairy". The legend may have been part of the inspiration for the Sherlock Holmes novel The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Sometimes the Black Shuck is referred to as the Doom Dog. It is said that his appearance bodes ill to the beholder, although not always. More often than not, the Black Shuck terrifies his victims out of their wits, but then leaves them alone to continue living normal lives. Many other black dogs exhibit a similar trait. Sometimes the Black Shuck has appeared headless, and at other times he appears to float on a carpet of mist rather than run. According to folklore, the spectre often haunts graveyards, sideroads, crossroads, dark forests and it is told by locals, from the depthe of Beeston Bump, a hill close to Beeston Regis and Sheringham.

Malindza Primary School has been closed after pupils were attacked by demons. The school has been closed since last week. The pupils, especially those in grade seven, would say they were seeing snakes before screaming and hallucinating.

Demons Attack
“They would refuse to go inside the classrooms saying they were seeing weird creatures,” said one resident, identified as Make Dlamini.
She said though the teachers tried to hold prayers for the children it did not work.
The school re-opened yesterday but there were no classes as teachers and parents were still trying to find a solution to the demons attack. One of the pupils said when the demons attacked her, she first heard someone calling her name. She said she then saw a snake coming towards her and that was when she started screaming for help.
Another said she told someone else about the attack and the next day she heard someone asking her why she had talked about her ‘demon’ experience. “It was quite scary because you never know when it would attack you. I am not comfortable coming to class now because I feel like the demons are here,” he said.
He said he woke up in the middle of the night having nightmares, stating, “I think this affected me because I constantly think about what I saw.”
Another pupil, who was not affected, said he was not scared when he saw some of his colleagues hallucinating and calling out for help. He said at first he just laughed and thought they were being funny not thinking that the attack was serious. “As some of my colleagues continued to say they saw things then I thought maybe I should be worried,” he said.

Some parents blame teachers for demons

Some parents have claimed there were some teachers who ‘planted’ evil spirits at the school.
They said at one time the teachers gave their children a paper with a message that they should make copies and pass it on to 20 people.
They alleged that the note stated that when this was done then the child would get E15 000.
Norah Zwane said the paper, which was given to one of the children, was written “ungangilahli, ungahlekisi ngami, ungayi ngami etoilet.”
Sibongile Ndzinisa said though it was the first time the children had been attacked by the demons teachers were once victims of such attacks.

Police, teachers, REO in 4-hour meeting

Police, teachers and the Regional Education Officer were locked in a four-hour meeting trying to find a solution to the prevailing situation.
The principal, who was only identified as Mthembu, refused to comment on what was being discussed at the meeting.
He only said he could not deny that there were attacks at the school but referred all questions to the ministry of education.
“This is not the first time this has happened; we are still going to inform the ministry about the issue, so I cannot talk about it,” he said.

Parents call mass prayer

Parents would soon call a mass prayer for peaceful learning at Malindza primary school.
One of the members of Bomake Bentsaba (prayer group) said they held a prayer at the school yesterday morning.
She said: “We were here even on Monday as there were no classes. If we are going to take this situation lightly it would disturb learning and we do not want our children to fail.”
The prayer women were found at the school and said without God’s intervention they would not be able to win the ‘battle’.
