The Mysterious Death of Elisa Lam

The history of the Cecil Hotel is so dark and gory that some say all 600 rooms are haunted, but one creepy mystery is still yet unexplained - The mysterious death of Elisa Lam.

The strange behaviour of 21-year-old student Elisa Lam was captured on security camera at a Los Angeles Hotel Cecil on the night of her disappearance. Her death is one of the most mysterious cases of the 21st century. 

On February 19th  2013, some residents at the Cecil Hotel complained about the water quality. Sent to inspect the cause of the blackened and odd tasting water, a maintenance worker made a grisly discovery: the decomposing body of Elisa Lam in one of the roof’s water tanks. For about 19 days, residents at the Cecil Hotel bathed, drank, and brushed their teeth with corpse contaminated water. Even weirder, the hotel remained open and guests continued to check in and out as firefighters removed Lam’s body.

Man Speaks 'Venusian' in Vintage BBC Clip

The bizarre footage of a man demonstrating his multilingual skills to a perplexed Patrick Moore was shown on BBC2 in 1969. This episode of the One Pair of Eyes documentary series followed the late Mr Moore as he met a number of so-called independent thinkers, who were unshackled by conventionality, to learn about their off-the-wall beliefs. Arch sceptic Moore, who presented The Sky at Night until he died aged 89 in December 2012, met pensioner Bernard Byron from Essex in this clip from an episode called Can You Speak Venusian? In a very polite, but stony-faced manner, he grilled Mr Byron about his ability to speak and write Plutonian, Venusian, and even the language of Krugar Planet 60 B. Mr Byron insisted his ability to communicate in alien tongues was sent down to him by aliens from the planets by a mechanical process "through rays".

Figure Found Hidden in Da Vinci's Mona Lisa

Since Dan Brown's popular novel was published there has been a surge of interest in identifying hidden symbolism within the paintings of the Renaissance genius. In a new video uploaded to YouTube earlier this month, conspiracy theorists believe that they have identified a hidden image within the background of Leonardo Da Vinci's best known painting, the Mona Lisa, which can be revealed by creating a mirrored duplicate of the painting and placing the two copies side by side.

Many theologians believe that Leonardo Da Vinci deliberately concealed secret codes and subliminal messages in most of his work, the video caption states. Critics however argue that the figure is too vague and requires too much digital enhancement to have been an intended part of the painting, instead blaming the discovery on pareidolia, the tendency for the human brain to make out meaningful shapes in otherwise abstract patterns. The claim that Da Vinci had been attempting to reference some form of extraterrestrial connection within the Catholic Church has also been met with an understandably high degree of skepticism.
